'Farm Africa'

Farm Africa was founded in 1985 and works with some of the poorest and isolated communities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Southern Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The projects of Farm Africa enables these communities to work themselves out of poverty.

Farm Africa runs projects such as:-

 - training village vets to provide vital support for animals

 - helping farmers develop irrigated small-scale farms so as to survive drought conditions

 - working with smallholder farmers by providing dairy goats

 - offering advice on the care of livestock and growing fodder

 - helping to manage forests which are a crucial source of water and grazing

- providing alternative livelihoods such as chicken rearing and beekeeping

- ensuring farmers have the equipment and know-how to manage their land more effectively
